Spring Break

Our spring break didn't quite go as planned. We had fun plans for just about everyday of the week until we got sick. So we ended up staying home most of the week and watched a lot of movies on netflix.

On Monday before we got sick we went to the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland. It has over 1,000 different species of trees from all over the world. Most of the trees were still dead, but we did stumble upon some beautiful Magnolia trees in bloom!

Check out the size of those petals!

Pretty sweet tree

We also checked out the International Rose Test Garden in the same area. A few bushes were in bloom but most don't bloom until mid-May. But there were some pretty trees in bloom there too.

this is Chris' "I'm doing something behind Heather's back to try to ruin the picture" face.
and this is Heather's "I have 3 chins" face.

There are so many tall trees in the park that it is easy to forget that Portland is only 2 miles away. It is kind of a weird sight!

Even though we spent most of spring break being sick, it was so nice to be able to relax and spend time together. We are both sad that it is over, but....Chris only has 4 weeks of school left and then finals!! WOW! I cannot believe that Chris is almost done with his first year of op. school; it has gone by so fast!

Phone

Getting a new phone is so exciting!
I was finally able to get around At&T's dumb rule of requiring a $20 text plan for certain phones and got one! While saying goodbye to my old, broken phone, I transfered all my old pictures from that phone to my computer and had a lot of fun remembering the pictures I took.
So here is the past 2 years in crappy phone pics:
My niece Cambria...long ago...with cheerios stuck to her face.
After moving home from Utah State, hanging out with old roomies and besties.
Dating a scruffy Chris
Eating jelly beans while scrap booking every Friday with Nikki and enjoying the multiple colored tongue I got.
(not blood)
Went on a road trip to Montana
Went on a couple of road trips with sleepy Chris.
This one was to Bear Lake.
Excursion to the Park City outlet malls.
This shoe was some outrageous size like 25 or something.
Sweet little Savannah was born.
Got engaged! my original ring :(
Blue-tongued Bre
Spent a lot of time in the library at the U with Chris studying wasting time.
(check out his incredible hair!)

Got my wisdom teeth removed. (and got paid for it!) Do I look like a chipmunk?
So at my expense and by demand of Chris...I am posting the much less attractive pic of me right after waking up and still quite drugged.
Spied on my 14 year old cousin and her boyfriend
and used pictures of them cuddling as black mail :)
(when my cousins and aunt were living at my parents)
Got the bump-it for my birthday from my sis and of course had to model it!
Moved to Oregon
Enjoyed the most colorful fall ever.
Double brilliant rainbows!

So long old phone.
Even though it wasn't love at first sight, when you opened up to me I fell in love. But my feelings changed when you stopped acting normal. I know I put you through a lot...like dropping you thousands of times, but you were good to me and almost made it through the entire 2 years.
Here's to 2 new years with a new phone!
(Hopefully my next phone will be an iphone ;) right Chris?)

Thank You Notes

Thank you AT&T,
for requiring a $20 text plan on any decently cool phone you offer. Also, thanks for letting my mom and sister get one of those phones without having to add the $20 text plan and thanks for NOT letting me get the same phone the same way. You stink.

Thank you spring break,
for being right around the corner! Thank you for giving me time with my husband and not making me feel guilty about it. Hurry up and get here!

Thank you check engine light,
for always coming on in Crik's car when nothing's really wrong, for costing us extra money to see why you have shown yourself and for being faulty. Please don't be offended if we ignore you from now on.

Thank you kitchen,
for letting the dishes pile up and not complaining about it. I promise we'll take care of them soon....
I hope.

Thank you Mold,
for all the fun we have had with you these past 7 months.
How did we ever survive in Utah's dry air with no mold to keep us on our toes? But it's all fun and games until some gets hurt, so please, try to keep your spores to yourself.

Thank you Fresh Start Detail,
for making my car mold free and drive-able.
And for making it the cleanest it's ever been.
Same seatbelt as before-no mold!

Thank you neighbors,
for blasting Miley Cyrus. As much as I hate that Butterfly song, I would SO rather hear it than something inappropriate.

Dear Star Wars episodes 1-6,
thank you for 3 weeks of entertainment. Also, thanks for all the amazing actors you picked to be in your movies. Seriously though, I love you and your bad actors.

Thank you toothbrush,
for being willing to stand in as a light saber for me when I'm feeling particularly [star wars] nerdy.

Thank you apartment,
for being 400 square feet and making it impossible for us to lose anything...

Thank you Full House,
for everything.
For your touching moments with endearing music at the end of each episode. For your selection of wonderful actors. For your cheesy jokes and laughs, and for  your "aww Deej!" moments. Seriously though, I really do love you...but don't tell anyone!

Thank you Oregon,
for 60 degrees, sun, and blooming flowers and trees in FEBRUARY!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
