Our spring break didn't quite go as planned. We had fun plans for just about everyday of the week until we got sick. So we ended up staying home most of the week and watched a lot of movies on netflix.
On Monday before we got sick we went to the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland. It has over 1,000 different species of trees from all over the world. Most of the trees were still dead, but we did stumble upon some beautiful Magnolia trees in bloom!

Check out the size of those petals!
Pretty sweet tree
We also checked out the International Rose Test Garden in the same area. A few bushes were in bloom but most don't bloom until mid-May. But there were some pretty trees in bloom there too.
this is Chris' "I'm doing something behind Heather's back to try to ruin the picture" face.
and this is Heather's "I have 3 chins" face.
There are so many tall trees in the park that it is easy to forget that Portland is only 2 miles away. It is kind of a weird sight!
Even though we spent most of spring break being sick, it was so nice to be able to relax and spend time together. We are both sad that it is over, but....Chris only has 4 weeks of school left and then finals!! WOW! I cannot believe that Chris is almost done with his first year of op. school; it has gone by so fast!
