A couple of weeks ago Chris had fall break...
and since this was our last break that we will both be here for, we knew we had to head up to Seattle!
It was one of the last things left on our bucket list of things to do before we move away.
The best part of the 3 hour drive?
Pumping our own gas in Washington!
(Seriously, we can't stand not pumping our own gas in Oregon...the gas stations are always backed up and it takes forever!)
When we got to Seattle we parked our car and took the monorail to go to Pikes Market.
There's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car monorail!
And if you don't sing this song every time you hear or say the word "monorail" then you must not be a big Simpsons fan:
Chris does a great impersonation of Patty and Selma...
Anywho, the Pike Place Market was awesome!
cabbage rose...or rose cabbage, can't remember.
some of Seattle from the monorail
After the public market we rode the monorail back to go to the Space Needle.
We loved all the views!
But not so much the freezing wind up there.
We ended our day with dinner and headed back to our hotel to watch our favorite cable shows (house hunters!) and get some shut-eye.
The next day we took the ferry to Bremerton and back.
It was an hour each way and this face shows how lame I thought it was going to be to sit on a ferry for 2 hours:
However...we both ended up loving it!
It was gorgeous and they kept the passenger area warm and toasty.
We visited the Fremont Troll as well....
Chris having a chat with the troll about his red eye.
And lastly we hit up the Westfield Mall in Seattle....holy ginormous!
Over 200 stores~ we spent hours there and bought hardly anything due to Washington's ridiculous sales tax.
I was pretty excited to see they had a Delias store (where I order my mile long jeans from)
until we walked in and were the only customers over the age of 12....
It's okay though, I actually got to try on long enough jeans before purchasing them!
It was very exciting.
The Rainforest Cafe had the craziest fish!
And to end our great trip to Seattle, we got a beautiful sunset on the way home.
We loved our quick trip to Seattle and will definitely be going back someday!
