Our Latest Adventures

We have been here a whole month and we still love it here. I think that is a pretty good sign.

Chris on his way to his first day of optometry school!!!!

The next weekend was Labor Day and my parents drove up to visit us and see our place. It was so fun to be with them again.
We met them at Multnomah Falls on Friday. It is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States.

We hiked to the top of the falls. They got a taste of the humidity here and weren't big fans.

We are already used to it and much happier hikers :)

Looking down from the top.

One example why Oregon trees are so awesome.
and another:

A little pool at the top right before the long fall down.

Our RINGS! The water was fa-reezing!
I am not a fan of hiking out on logs, can you tell?
Wahkeena Falls
After visiting the falls, we ate dinner at Olive Garden in Portland then headed home.

On Saturday we woke up to rain, rain and more rain. It gave us a good chance to hang all our decorations on the walls (FINALLY) with the help of my dad. In the afternoon we headed out to Tillamook, to go visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory. Definitely not what I expected, although I didn't really know what to expect. You can look down and watch them cut the cheese (heheh) literally, and package it. Then you can buy ice cream and sample cheese, and that's about it. So it wasn't quite as mind blowing as I'd hoped it would somehow be, but there were a TON of people there, so maybe I'm missing something. After trying 5 different flavors of Tillamook ice cream, most of them good, we headed to the beach! The clouds had cleared up and the sun was out but it was sure windy. This is oceanside beach.
This is a hole in the cliff that goes all the way through to the other side. The opening at the other side.
Inside the hole.

One side of the cliff hole was a really rocky beach; the other side was sandy.

Whenever we go to the beach, Chris' inner little boy comes out. He runs around with a big grin on his face the whole time. I don't think I've ever seen him so excited to be anywhere.

A macro shot of things growing on a giant rock in the water.

Basically, Oregon is beautiful wherever we go.

Maybe I could be in Oregon and not Tucson! I love all those pics you posted, especially the one with the two of you jumping in the air on the beach. Super cute! I'm jealous of the lush greenery up there, you're probably jealous of all the cacti we have down here, right...right??? Anyway, I'm glad you guys are loving it up there, I can't wait to come visit!!!
