I thought I would list some of the differences of Oregon from Utah for the fun of it:
1. Trees. So many more trees here that are so much bigger, taller and awesom-er.
2. No Sales Tax. LOVE it. Utah is going to stink when we get back.
3. Rain. I love rain and I love it when it rains longer than 5 minutes. And I love being warm and cozy inside while it's rainy outside.
4. Coexist. Never seen so many of those bumper stickers in my life.
5. Speed Limits. Everyone drives the speed limit here-sometimes it is really nice and other times really frustrating.
6. Tail gating. Everyone also rides your bumper when the traffic is bad and it's not like you can speed up anyway. Drives me nuts... Of course this is only closer to Portland. There's no such thing as traffic in FG.
7. The Oregon Coast. This should actually be below Trees in how much I love it. I just can't wait for next summer when we can spend lots of time there.
8. One Way Streets. Our town is full of them. Now that I'm used to them I kind of like them but it stinks when you pass your destination and have to go around the block again to get to it.
9. Air. No inversions! The air always feels so crisp and clean here.
10. Humidity. Ugh. Has it's pros and cons but I prefer Utah's dry air and not having to worry about mold growing the bathroom, window, fridge, sponge, etc. Lotion use is rare and I have way to much yummy smelling lotion that is going to go to waste!
11. Moss. On all the trees and some rocks. Very pretty.
12. Portland. So pretty right on the river, but the traffic always stinks there.
13. Forest Grove. There are no speed limits through the agricultural zones to get here.
14. (Mexicans). (Lots). (Not saying that's a bad thing.)
15. Awesome Nature. Everywhere :) Except no mountains-I always feel really turned around here trying to figure out which way is north.
I have to be honest and say that I can't wait for Chris to be done with his first year of school. (almost half way through this semester-woohoo!) Everyone says it is the worst and I can see why. He is at school from 8-5 almost everyday and then after eating dinner he goes right back to studying for the evening. He is good about taking breaks to play a game or two with me though. Weekends are my best friend because that's when I get to have fun with my best friend. I'm just glad that we've been married for some time now because I can't imagine being newly, newly weds and never seeing Chris.
Several more posts are to come because I have been slacking, but it's not my fault. Blame my computer and it's being too full to have room for any new pictures. Thank my awesome Dad for getting me an external hardrive to put everything on to free up space on my comp. Thank you Dad, my computer now functions at a decent speed again, THANK GOODNESS. I was about ready to drop it on my foot again, only move my foot out of the way of breaking it's fall this time, that's how slow it was.
I also need to admit 2 things to the world.
-I think I like Macs better than PCs. On most days anyways.
-I am addicted to junk food.
Happy Chris? We've been on a health kick trying to eat better and not eat any junk food. After about a week I was dying for something sugary. And Tillamook ice cream screams my name as I walk past it each week at the grocery store, trying to pretend it's not there. Luckily we call off no junk food when we have guests, or are at a party with lots of treats.
Some things I am looking forward to:
-Flying to Arizona for my cousin's wedding; seeing my parents and sibs. Then flying to Salt Lake for 4 days!! Seeing my nieces and my dog! And Candice and the mountains! I am really sad to be without Chris for a whole 8 days though. It will be the longest we've ever been apart. I think I might cry at the airport and I'm going to miss him so badly.
-Thanksgiving break we are most likely driving with some friends to Salt Lake. YAY, more family!
-In November Chris gets like every other week off of school and he's all mine.
-Christmas! And going home again!
-Our one year anniversary on Dec. 30! Wow! Finally people won't be able to call us newly weds anymore.
I realize this has been a very random post, but these things have been bouncing around in my head for a while, so thank you for reading them. I hope they didn't bore you.
