As of Late

Here's what has happened lately that I've been too busy to blog about:

Chris finished his first year of optometry school!!! So crazy, so exciting and so awesome.
And he did so with excellent (perfect) grades! (no surprise there)
He is now the smartest person I know. He always has been but now even more so.
I swear you can ask him about anything and he will know something about it!
I'm very proud of him and we realized yesterday that we are only 3 years away from our first real income now!
Wow, that feels a lot closer.
Now we only have 2 years and a few months left in Oregon!
Wow, that feels a lot closer too!
When we moved away to Oregon I was pretty sure it would take about 10 years for the next 4 years to pass....but I have happily learned that time keeps on moving and it moves quickly!

After Chris was done with his week and half of finals we had some fun up in Oregon while mostly preparing for our surprise trip home :)
We took our camera to the temple and enjoyed the amazing flowers and scenery there.

Hi, I'm a sister missionary

Awesome trees surrounding the temple

Then we road tripped home in a car that we were sure would break down on the way.

We were surprised to see these white flakes that we had forgotten the name of.
It's been 5 beautiful months without this stuff.
12 hours is extremely long in a car...but lots of fun when you're with your best friend!
We had fun singing "Murray, Utah here we come, right back where we started from"
to the California here we come song.
We also took turns imitating Gandolf saying "You shall not pass" every time we passed this sign.
Chris won.
(nerds)

Showing our car some love after making it ALL of the 800 miles with no problems!
We were so proud and pleased with this baby.

When we first arrived in Utah we couldn't believe the scrawny trees. Since arriving, chapstick application, hang nails, dry skin and lotion application have all increased 10 fold.
Also, our towels actually dry before we need to use them again!

Aww Utah, as much as we love Oregon, there's really no place like home.
