Two years ago, we sat at the "commencement at orientation" for first year students, as first years.
It was scary and exciting, starting this new chapter in our lives.
During the ceremony they presented the "Peg Gilbert Award" to the top four 3rd year students.
Ever since then, Chris has been working hard to be one of the top 4 students so he could get the award also.
I know, big deal to get some award huh?
Well...the best part about this award is that it is a $3000 scholarship!
So here we are, 2 years later, at the same ceremony...
happy to be more than half way done...
carrying on with the lives we've settled into here in Oregon....and...
with Chris receiving the ONE and ONLY Peg Gilbert Award given this year for his class of 3rd years.
In case you didn't figure it out...that means he is top of his class!
They had him come to the front where someone (probably) important read a little paragraph about his goals/dreams/wishes/hopes for world peace, announced his GPA much to his embarrassment (in case you were wondering: 4.0) and presented him with a plaque.
After the ceremony they had a catered lunch dealio with some incredibly delicious food!
and some not so enticing, moldy looking cheese.
